This is one of my favorite projects that I have made so far. I used paper clay to make it. I made this by attaching 5 squares together and then adding in barriers to the 6th square so that the lid could rest on the top of the box without sliding off. I attached all of the squares together and added the details by slipping and scoring. It has a smooth surface with small vines with thorns and roses attached to the sides and the top of the box. I glazed the base white and then used Pink-a-licious and dark green to glaze the details. It is about 3 inches wide and 4 inches tall. I used various shapes to give my little box emphasis on the roses and vines. A new skill that I learned and utilized in this project is creating roses and flowers. I really loved how they turned out and I will be creating more in the future. This project is meaningful to me because I was able to create something that is completely different than what I normally do and I was able to be creative.

This is my first big bowl of my second quarter in intermediate ceramics. It is about 6 inches wide and 5 inches tall. It mostly has a smooth texture but near the base of the bowl I carved in lines. I glazed it with white and pink but both vaguely showed up, and they both ran. This bowl shows how texture gives the bowl rhythm. One new skilled that I learned/used was adding texture and exploring new types of glazes. This bowl is meaningful to me because I used new techniques that I have never done before.
