This is my mug project. It is 5 inches wide and 3 inches tall. It is green with a smooth surface. I glazed it in a thick layer of shadow green to create a metallic effect at the bottom of the mug. I used color to create a smooth surface. I made my mug wide so that it could be similar to a soup mug with a handle to create a cozy feeling. One technique I tried was using a new glaze than I have before. This project is important to me because I branched out of the normal colors that I usually use.

This is my finished bowl project. It is 3 inches wide and 4 inches tall. It has an all around smooth surface. It is glazed white and blue. My technique of glazing this bowl was to have a white base coat and then I sponged on black glaze to create a spotted effect. The new skill that I learned was this method of glazing. I also made one of my best foot rings on this bowl. The texture on this bowl creates a pattern. This bowl is significant to me because it has a peaceful and earthy mood which I have been loving lately.
This is my lidded project. It has a round body and a flat lid. It is roughly 4 inches wide and 5 inches tall. The surface of my project has a distressed vibe. I glazed it all in Forest Cobalt and rubbed a sponge on edges and natural divots to create a worn feeling. A new skill that I learned was a new method of glazing and adding detail like I mentioned prior. This project shows texture which gives emphasis to the movement of my project. The importance of this project was to create something new and fun with techniques that I had never tried before.
This is my first planter project for second semester. It is roughly 4 inches wide and 4 inches tall. It has a smooth surface. It has a speckled blue color. I glazed this with a base layer of white with a black overcoat with made the surface appear distressed and worn. This project shows how texture adds movement and cohesion. This is one of my favorite projects I have made so far because it has a very dainty form but the colors and surface contrast with a bright pop of color and a rustic vibe.
This is my finished vase project. It has a wide base which goes into a skinny neck and then flares at the lip. It is 4 inches in height and 3 inches wide. It has a speckled blue surface and a black base color. I used black and white to glaze my project. I dipped the entire vase into a black glaze, then I took a sponge, dipped it in white and pressed it onto the surface to create a speckled, galaxy effect. I learned a new method of glazing. My vase shows how texture emphasizes pattern. The meaning behind this project is trying new things like glazing and creating a new form.
This is my group coil project. My partners were Lewis and Aiyanna. We created this coil pot for Mr. Wieburg so that he could organize his stamps. It is about 5 inches tall and 3 inches wide.. We glazed it with dark cobalt and shadow green. We carved a "W" into the side for negative space.
This is my first bowl project. It is a medium height and it has smooth curves near the lip of the bowl. It is 4.5 inches wide by 2.5 inches in height. It is glazed with dark cobalt and white. I used dark cobalt as a base color, then I dipped the top of the bowl in white glaze and allowed it to drip down onto the dark cobalt creating a light blue color.I used value to emphasize movement in my project. I enjoy this project because it is peaceful and simple.
This is my first bowl project of this semester. it is wide and round. It is about 4.5 inches wide and 3 inches in height. It has a relatively smooth surface. The colors that I used to glaze this bowl were white, black and dark cobalt. The method of glazing that I used was dipping so that there would be overlapping of colors, definitive lines and color blocks. I learned about how overlapping glazes creates new shades and colors. I used color to emphasize contrast. I like this piece because it is calming.
